Welcome to Dave Polkow coaching

I have been competing in triathlons since 1991 and have participated in many races offered in the Chicagoland/Midwest area from sprint to Ironman levels. I have completed Ironman Wisconsin, Canada, Lake Placid, Arizona, Coeur d'Alene and Florida . I am training for Ironman Texas in May 2011 and Wisconsin in 2012.

I've done the Chicago Marathon and numerous other running events and am actively involved with the Elmhurst Running Club. Every Sunday morning you'll find me leading a 35-38 mile bike ride for the Elmhurst Bicycle Club and Elmhurst Triathlon Club. In the summer months, I lead Brick workouts on Wednesday nights

I've been a USAT certified triathlon coach since 2005. In addition to private coaching, I am currently teaching an adult stroke class for the Elmhurst YMCA. I have held swim clinics for various local triathlon clubs and groups. I am one of the founding members and current president of the Elmhurst Triathlon Club.

I have a strong interest in helping others to pursue and further their goals in multisports. I enjoy both helping the first-timer prepare to complete their first open water swim with minimal anxiety as well as help the experienced triathlete sharpen their skills.
